Akron Ascent Innovations was selected to present at the Innovation in Materials Science (iMatSci) session at the Materials Research Society (MRS) conference in Phoenix, AZ.  “It was very exciting to be selected for this award,” said Dr. Kevin White, Chief Operating Officer of AAI.  “This has been one of a range of opportunities provided to us as part of the NSF Small Business Innovation Research program.  The iMatSci is particularly valuable because it brings established companies and venture capitalists together with the innovators and small businesses.”

The iMatSci program was introduced in 2014 as a platform for start-up companies to demonstrate their newest materials-focused technologies for practical applications.  The program was developed to spur collaboration and accelerate adoption of new materials technologies.

For the award, AAI submitted a short video that competed against other emerging technologies on the grounds of value proposition, potential impact, and scalability.  AAI’s video was selected for an award that included free registration and booth at the conference.
